Model Comparison

AeroGarden...Try It Free!!

Classic AeroGarden

The classic AeroGarden is the entry level option for those looking to try out the garden for the first time. Being the entry model means it doesn’t come with as many bells and whistles.

The most noticeable difference is it uses 1 glow bulb instead of the deluxe models 3 bulbs and you don’t have the extendable hood. This means you’re limited to growing smaller vegetables.

I would recommend the Classic model to anyone looking to grow herbs and vegetables for cooking. It has everything you need to get started and few of the things you don’t need so why pay more?

However you can’t argue with the price difference as of this writing the Classic AeroGarden costs only $149.95

Deluxe AeroGarden

The deluxe AeroGarden is a more fully featured unit than the classic garden. The majority of the upgrades are surprisingly functional as extra bulbs deliver twice the light and the extendable hood can be raised 24 inches in case you want to grow larger plants and full sized tomatoes, Cucumbers etc.

On the technical side, it also comes with a 24 hour light function. This model truly is the Cadillac of the AeroGarden line.

It also comes with the Master Gardener Deluxe kit which allows you to get a jumpstart on growing plants for an outdoor garden.

Overall I would say the Deluxe model is definitely for those who have enjoyed gardening in the past or who want to make it a more serious hobby. It has a lot of features the average person doesn’t NEED however it does give you a lot of flexibility should you decide to take gardening more seriously in the future or have a large family.

If your interested in the Deluxe model then you should consider the Pro Series 200 which is both cheaper, contains more features and looks a lot better.

As of this writing the Deluxe AeroGarden costs $229.95

Pro Series AeroGarden

The Pro Series AeroGarden is an upgraded version of the Deluxe and Classic AeroGarden’s. The most significant upgrades is the new Adaptive Growth Intelligence microprocessor which is a fancy way of saying the Pro Series can monitor what stage in development your plants are at and adjust water, nutrients and light levels appropriately.

It also comes with a more eye pleasing brushed stainless steel look for those of us with high end kitchens and appliances.

The Pro Series comes in two variations. The Pro 100 model is an updated Classic AeroGarden and the Pro 200 is an updated Deluxe Model.

As of this writing the Pro 100 costs $169.95 while the Pro 200 costs $199.95

In Summary:

The Classic and Pro 100 Aerogarden’s represent the best value for your money especially for casual users. If you want to grow large vegetables but don’t have a garden outdoors then the Pro 200 gives the best bang for your buck.

The Deluxe model seems to be caught in the middle when it comes to features since the release of the Pro 200 model and the single biggest difference between the Deluxe and the Pro 200 is the Master Gardner Kit which allows you to grow your own seeds.
