What is the AeroGarden?

Author: Aerogrower

Don’t worry your not the first person to wonder what AeroGarden is, after all the television advertisements spend most of their time trying to sell us on it’s ability to grow vegetables and spices but leave the rest to our imaginations.

The AeroGarden is an indoor garden that claims to provide the perfect environment to grow a number of herbs, vegetables, strawberries and most recently even mini roses.

Essentially it’s a small hydroponics kit that’s designed to be far more compact and visually appealing then buying the larger and far more expensive custom kits available from hydroponics retailers and garden supply stores.

However while the technology has been around for awhile, the AeroGarden system’s main claim to fame is you don’t really need a green thumb in order for your plants to grow. It’s computerized “Smart” garden is supposed to remind you when to add water or nutrients and control the optimum light levels.

Currently it comes in only one size and it’s a little bit larger then the ad’s on TV make it out to be, measuring 16” long by 10 ½” wide. It should still fit comfortably in most people’s kitchens however if your counter is already over crowded you may want to consider keeping the AeroGarden in another part of the house.
